Well, here we are. Heading down the rabbit hole once again. No matter how many times I shoot this styled photography session, it’s never the same. I think that’s why Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite photography themed shoots.
This girl is absolutely perfect for this shoot and her mom styled her perfectly with that fabulous blue dress. I love all the images from this session, but the tea party pictures are my favorite.
So much of this session is hand crafted and that’s what lends to the whimsy. The rolled fabric flowers make everything sweet and are a lovely project to do in front of the TV to keep your hands busy one evening! The altered book and decoupaged tea pot, giant drink me label, and the card garland are easy and fun props to add to your Wonderland decor. All the treats were provided by the artisan shop IKEA. hahahahahaha. Seriously, though, their little food section has delightful treats including heart shaped waffles and jam filled cookies that are perfect for a tea party, though I prefer the ginger cookies myself.
Every year I add something, or more than one something, to this collection of props and this year I found a sweet Victorian chair at a garage sale of all places!!! It’s perfect in this garden setting.
Finally, a variety of keys and keyholes round out this collection. I don’t know what it is about kids, they cannot resist seeing if that key fits in the keyhole. And now I understand why Alice follows that rabbit! She just can’t help it!
The magic and whimsy of Alice is captivating and I tried to capture that curiosity with this set of props that provides a way to interact with environment and get some different expressions and looks from children during their photo shoot.
Enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole! Thanks for looking!!!!
